RANT: Remember two things: 9/11 and Benghazi — both national disasters

9/11

A national disgrace.

“We” rebuilt the WTC, but it’s a shadow of its former self. I would have put up a replacement with an extended middle finger.

Benghazi-gate

Obama, Clinton, many politicians and bureaucrats failed 4 good men. And, it’s a stain on the nation’s history. CYA still abounds. Considering the Sheeple never DEMAND the truth, it’ll never be cleansed.

POLITICAL: Benghazi could have been releived

WND EXCLUSIVE
ADMISSION: SPECIAL FORCES WERE ONLY HOURS FROM BENGHAZI
Joint chiefs chairman confirms whistleblower account
AARON KLEIN

*** begin quote ***

JERUSALEM – In a bombshell admission that has until now gone unreported, Martin Dempsey, chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, conceded that highly trained Special Forces were stationed just a few hours away from Benghazi on the night of the attacks but were not told to deploy to Libya.

In comments that may warrant further investigation, Dempsey stated at a Senate hearing Wednesday that on the night of the Sept. 11, 2012, attack, command of the Special Forces – known as C-110, or the EUCOM CIF – was transferred from the military’s European command to AFRICOM, or the United States Africa Command.

Also, Dempsey’s comments on the travel time between Croatia and Benghazi were incorrect.

His remarks for the first time confirm an exclusive Fox News interview aired April 30 in which a special government operator, speaking on condition of anonymity, contradicted claims by the Obama administration and a State Department review that there wasn’t enough time for military forces to deploy the night of the attack.

OK, now we don’t have some unnamed source afraid for their own hide.

Here’s the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff saying it.

Our fighting men were abandoned on the battlefield for politics.

If I was him, I’d resign.

To admit that I broke faith with my fellow soldiers is dishonorable.

“Everyone” can say there is no scandal here. But that doesn’t make it so. Calling a fart “rose perfume” doesn’t make it smell any better.

Sorry, but “We, The People” should be demanding investigations and resignations.

Heads on pikes. The perfumed princes in the Pentegon, gone. The chain for command that broke down, gone.

Sorry, and don’t tell me we don’t know who gave the order. The military ALWAYS knows who gave the orders.

Argh!

FLASH: WMAL 610 Larry O’Connor had Joe diGenova blasted the BHO44 administration’s scandals

Repeating from memory:

1. Fast and Furious

Prostitution in the State Department (hadn’t heard that one before)

NSA spying

EPA targeting

HHS Obamacare fund raising from Big Pharma

IRS investigating political opponents

Bengahzi

The Bengahzi stand down order

It was a litany and quite distressing. I’ve queried them for a list. It should make interesting blog fodder.

Up on Frequency

*** begin quote ***

In recent posts, we’ve asked the fundamental question about the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi, which resulted in the deaths of four Americans: what did the administration know, and when did they know it?

As we’ve noted, there was a steady stream of intelligence reporting on the attack, delivered at the FLASH/CRITIC level. Messages assigned that priority must be delivered to the President within 10 minutes of receipt. This traffic captured conversations between the Islamist factions responsible for the attack, before and during the assault on our compound. That’s why administration claims that incident was some sort of “demonstration gone bad” are nothing more than a lie.

*** end quote ***

This is a disaster.

The President’s response to this is inexplicable.

There’s is no doubt that some one told the UN Ambassador to get out on the TV circuit and reaffirm the Administration’s tale.

So, as always, who knew what? When? And, what is the path of the strategy!

Argh!

POLITICAL: Media Bias a la Candy Crowley

Joe Trippi: Crowley ‘Correcting’ Romney on Libya Looked Like ‘The Ref Just Threw the Flag’

By Noel Sheppard | October 16, 2012 | 23:20

*** begin quote ***

Conceivably the biggest moment in Tuesday’s presidential debate was when moderator Candy Crowley injected herself into the discussion siding with Barack Obama on remarks he claimed he made in the Rose Garden following the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

*** end quote ***

Against my better judgment, I watch the second debate because the Yankees were hopeless.

As all the “conservative” pundits predicted, Ms. Crowley couldn’t help but pile in on her “team’s side”.

I thought that wasn’t permitted by the rules of engagement?

And, what’s more she was WRONG!

Liberal bias!

Took the UN Ambassador on the TV circuit with a misleading at best story. Took the White House a week to walk it back and only after that DoI guy told to the truth to Congress. (You could almost hear the conversation right out of that Jack Ryan movie. “I ain’t going to jail. I’m the guy who always goes to jail.”) And BHO44 didn’t concede it until he was on the View.

Argh!

I can make some small allowance that perhaps it MIGHT be in the nation’s strategic interest to keep stuff quiet.

(For example, if I was Prez, I would not have illed Bin Laden. He’d be in an undisclosed location with some nasty folks asking tough questions. And, even when presented with the downed helicopter, I’d lie to the TV and say ‘wasn’t us’. Stragteically. I also threaten anyone who did toe the party like with an assignment to be Presidential liaison with the Base Commander in Sitka Alaska. And, call the commander and have him in a cube at the end of the longest runway counting seagulls for his daily report.)

But in this case, I think this was al about CYA for the BHO44 reelection and nothing else.

Can “We, The Sheeple” see through the media bias and recognized a failed foreign policy?

Who Knew, Redux

*** begin quote ***

It doesn’t take a foreign policy wonk to understand why the Obama Administration is so desperate to “spin” its version of how Islamic terrorists attacked the U.S. Consulate (and diplomatic safe house) in Benghazi, Libya almost two weeks ago, resulting in the murder of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.  As the true details of that incident begin to emerge, one thing is clear: this is a security, intelligence and leadership debacle of the first magnitude.

Mr. Stevens and his colleagues didn’t have to have to die–it’s that simple.  There were warnings of a possible attack up to three days prior, from Libyan officials and Egyptian intelligence.  There are also indications that the Brits knew something was up and shared that information with us, but to no avail.  Ambassador Stevens, who reportedly told co-workers he “had a price on his head,” elected to travel to the unsecure Benghazi facility, with no dedicated security detail.  However, it is unclear if Stevens received the latest threat information before setting out for the consulate.

And, it now evident that senior U.S. officials knew the Benghazi compound was under attack as it unfolded (emphasis ours).  According to media reports, President Obama was told of the assault between 90 minutes and three hours into the incident.  He later went to bed, before the fate of Ambassador Stevens and his colleagues was determined.

*** and ***

Based on what we’re hearing, it seems likely that President Obama was in receipt of similar messages on the night our consulate was breached and Ambassador Stevens was murdered, along with three other Americans.  And, if NSA was monitoring terrorist phone calls in the run-up to the attack, there is a very real possibility that the commander-in-chief knew what was going on well before the “three hour” mark.  That possibility raises very real questions about what Mr. Obama knew, when he knew it, and his initial response to the crisis.

As Congress digs deeper into the incident, they should ask the NSA Director (General Keith Alexander) about CRITIC reporting from Libya on the night in question.  The amount of CRITIC reporting by NSA is very small–usually no more than a handful of messages a year.  It won’t be very hard to determine if any FLASH/CRITIC messages were sent to the White House that night; when the President received them, and exactly what he knew before his “command decision” to go back to bed.

*** end quote ***

“… real questions about what Mr. Obama knew, when he knew it, and his initial response to the crisis.”

This is what it always comes down to.

The cover up.

The media and the talking heads roasted Bush43 on the events of 9/11.

Yet, with this, we hear nothing.

Having worked at NSA, I know how serious they are about the mission.

We spend a lot of money on Gooferment. Be nice to know if we got our moneys worth!

FOreign policy has taken a back seat to the economy.

By the way, when was the last time you heard of a Russian Ambassador being touched?

You have to be feared!
